Our life's purpose- "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down ad when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates." Deuteronomy 6:4-9

Kamryn's Weekend

This past weekend Kenny and I had the joy of spending one on one time with Kamryn while Johnston was at Gram & Pop's house.

We took her shopping (she has Daddy wrapped around her finger when we do this), bowling for the first time, ice skating for the first time (which was the most intersting event we did, haha) and she also rode a carousel for the first time. She enjoyed everything except for the ice skating.

She had a great time and we enjoyed spending time with her and hearing her laugh, chat, and just being a goofy two year old instead of a caring and protective big sister, which she is by nature. Enjoy the pictures below!!

Attempt at a Frisco RoughRiders Baseball Game...

Kenny and I decided to take the kids to a RoughRiders baseball game; so we grabbed our tickets, packed our bag and grabbed a quilt and headed out to the game as excited as we could be.

We had purchased admission tickets that included two hot dogs and two hats. Of course, Kamryn was not interested in a hot dog, so I took her to the concession stand for her to decide what she wanted; me thinking the menu might help (but, ha-ha). She decided on a pretzel with salt and nachos, but ate neither. She had more fun running around the grass field and dancing than she did keeping any eye on the game. Johnston was fussy and very uncomfortable. He 0nly likes it outside when the wind is blowing. After an hour of saying Kamryn come here, Kamryn please eat your dinner, Kamryn please be a little quieter, etc...and sayin to Johnston; please be happy for five minutes, please let M0mmy eat, etc. we decided to head out and call it a night.

We have now decided against taking them to events like that (we will prob take Kam only unil J is older) where we spend tons of money on food. What made it worth it was Kamryn saying, I love it with Mommy and Daddy at the game. That made the whole trip worth while!!!

On free days, Kamryn and Johnston LOVE playing at Willow Bend Playarea. (Mommy likes it because they clean it regularly and it is indoors!)

Lazy, Fun Family Sunday Afternoon at the Park

Many of you know the song by Craig Morgan (a country artist), 'What I Love About Sundays'. Today, our family had a close to perfect (relaxing) Sunday. Our family has been on the go for the past several months every weekday and weekend. It was nice to dress slouchy and to whatever we wanted.

I actually got to participate in worship this morning with Kenny, then we had a wonderful, relaxing afternoon. Kenny has not been able to attend worship much since March because of Johnston's house arrest. It was absolutely wonderful getting to sit with him during church. This afternoon I took a nap with Kamryn (which was much needed after kids camp-the bunks were not as comfy as I remember when I was younger), I clipped coupons (my personal favorite), we had a picnic, took the kids to the park, bath time and tucked our sweet little ones into bed.

This might not sound all that amazing, but to us, we had a great time. My biggest thing with my kids is to make slouchy, fun family days every so often, no matter their age so they will have the memories of loving parents.

Enjoy the pictures!
