Our life's purpose- "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down ad when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates." Deuteronomy 6:4-9

While I was pregnant with Kamryn, Kenny and I were waiting at the doctors office for a sono appointment, while flipping through a magazine I had propped on my whale sized tummy, I came a cross a picture of a green painted pumpkin with orange polka dots and thought that would be a wonderful craft to do with my baby to be. I had tons of ideas on my notepad in my purse, and of course jotted it down so I would remember. Since Kamryn was 10 months, we have painted pumpkins as one of our 'Halloween' crafts. This year was quite an intersting experience with Johnston painting a pumpkin, or should we say eating the paint. The kids had a blast doing it and it was nice to have Kenny do it with us this year. I have done it with Kamryn every year by myself beacuse Kenny was in school working on completing his MBA. Now that he is done, the kids love having him at home more, and Mommy does too! Kenny helped Kamryn with her pumpkin, and I tried my hardest to help Johnston. Kamryn had a blast painting and stamping while stating each color and telling Kenny how much fun she was having. Johnston on the other hand had fun trying to eat the paint that was on the paint brush while I kept chasing him around the mat and saying, "yuck", "shoo", "no, Johnston, please don't put it in your mouth", etc. We pretty much ended up with a beautiful and colorful pumpkin Kamryn painted and another pumpkin Johnston did two or three beautiful strokes on and Mommy tried to finish it up. They both ended up with a paint on them, but the art project was well worth it.

Texas Days

The kids school has a 'Texas Day' every year which is like a mini fair and pumpkin patch combined. They have corn dogs, popcorn cart, rocking horse rides, games, crafts, a pumpkin patch and all kinds of other fun things. The kids and teachers dress up like cowboys and cowgirls. Kam was really excited when her friends and teachers were dressed up and talked about the event for days. The funny thing in with Kamryn is he has had the same outfit for two years and it is still too big. She had a blast this year, but had to leave school early because she was sick.

Kamryn's Got Boots On

My sister has a wonderful boyfriend, Kyle. Kamryn is nuts over him and only wants to see Chelsie if Kyle is going to be where ever we are going. They came to Johnston's birthday party and that is all Kamryn had talked about that morning was getting to see Kyle in the afternoon. Here is Kamryn in Kyle's boots which go up to her bottom.

Johnston's 1st Birthday!

Mommy's boy is now 1! We celebrated Johnston's 1st birthday this past weekend. He had a wonderful time at his party, played with his friends, opened gifts, made a mess of his cake (and had to change clothes). Thank you to all of our friends and family who helped make this an enjoyable day for us. We all know the first birthday is the mark to say--"WE MADE IT!!!" His birthday was a bittersweet milestone in the wonderful years to come. Happy birthday J--we love you! Enjoy the pictures of his party with his friends and family below. (Thanks Nonna & Grandaddy for helping set up and take pictures!)

Johnston's 1 Year Appointment

We took Johnston to the doctor today for his one year well visit. He now weighs 25.1 lbs--that is more than Kamryn weighs!! He is thriving and had a wonderful birthday. We could not celebrate much because I was staying home with Kamryn who was sick. We will celebrate it all day Saturday. The docor said his ears have cleared up (he had an ear infection) and his breathing sounds great. Thank you to everyone for your prayers and support for our little chunky monkey.
